Time tracking

Track time without thinking about it.

One click starts the stopwatch. Forgotten hours are just as quick to add — no ten-field form. Every entry lands cleanly under customer, project and task, with billability from the template. If times overlap on the same day, you get a warning.

iXTime time tracker — live timer on top, the day’s entries grouped below with billable/non-billable

Two ways, one clean list

Timer or manual — the result is always structured the same way.

Live timer

Type the task, pick a project, go. The timer runs visibly in the header — even when you switch pages.

Manual entry

Enter from–to or a duration directly. Perfect for logging after the fact without rewinding a stopwatch.

Timer optional

Per workspace you decide whether the live timer is available — teams that prefer manual-only logging simply hide it.

Billability

Every entry inherits billable/non-billable from customer → project → task — overridable per entry, shown as an icon.

Overlap warning

If a new entry overlaps an existing one on the same day, you’re warned right away — double bookings don’t slip through.

Daily overview

Entries grouped by day with a daily total. Edit, duplicate or delete in one click.

How it works

01

Start or backfill

Stopwatch on click — or “New time entry” for past hours.

02

Assign

Pick customer, project and task. Billability comes from the template automatically.

03

Done

The entry shows in the daily list and flows straight into Calendar and Reports.

Frequently asked

Does the timer keep running when I switch pages?

Yes. The running timer stays visible in the header and keeps counting, whichever area you’re in.

Can I log time after the fact?

Anytime. Use “New time entry” to enter from–to or a duration — without touching the stopwatch.

How does iXTime know whether an hour is billable?

Billability inherits customer → project → task. The entry takes the default and is toggleable per entry.

Do I have to set up projects first?

For clean assignment, yes — set up customer, project and task once. After that, logging takes seconds.

Does iXTime warn about overlapping times?

Yes. If an entry overlaps an existing one on the same day, the form shows a warning listing the affected entries right away. You can still save if the overlap is intentional.
