Step by step

  1. 01

    First time: register

Below the email field the sign-in page shows a “No account? Create one” link. The very first time you must use that link — entering your email address and clicking “Next” will not find an account that does not exist yet. Once you have an account, sign in through the email field as usual.

  2. 02

    Sign in without a password

iXTime works without a password: enter your email address and you receive a one-time code, which you type on the sign-in page.

  3. 03

    Open or create a workspace

After signing in you see your workspaces. Each workspace is separate — its own data, its own team. Pick an existing one or create a new one.

  4. 04

    Set up structure

Create your customers, projects and tasks. You decide how many levels you use and what they are called. See the article “Create customers, projects & tasks”.

  5. 05

    Invite your team

Invite colleagues into the workspace by email and assign roles (Owner, Admin). Owners and admins control who sees what.

  6. 06

    Track time

Now you’re set: start the timer or log time after the fact. The article “Tracking time” covers exactly how.

Create a workspace

After signing in you land on the workspace picker. “Create new workspace” opens this form — you only give it a name and become its administrator.

Do I need a password?

No. Signing in is passwordless: you receive a one-time code by email and enter it on the sign-in page.

What is a workspace?

A workspace is your separate working environment with its own customers, projects, tasks and members. You can belong to several workspaces and switch between them.
