Workspace settings: general
The “Workspace settings” tab is where you set the workspace name and how time tracking behaves by default. The tab is only visible to members with the “Manage settings” permission.
Step by step
- 01
Who can do this?
The “Workspace settings” tab only appears with the “Manage settings” permission. Owners and Admins have it automatically.
- 02
Organisation name
Set the workspace name. It is saved via the Save bar of the “General” section.
- 03
Allow timer & default mode
The “Allow timer” toggle controls whether the stopwatch is available. “Default mode” sets whether the Time Tracker opens on “Timer” or “Manual”. When the timer is off, the mode selector is disabled.
- 04
Enable billability
The “Billability” toggle turns on billable hours for the workspace. Dependent options only appear once it is on. The default inherits top-down through the hierarchy (customer → project → task) and can be overridden at any level and per entry.
- 05
Prevent overlaps
When “Prevent overlapping entries” is on, time entries of the same person that overlap are blocked on save.
- 06
Custom fiscal year
Optionally define your own reporting period with a start day (day and month) and a custom name — and set it as the default period for Reports if you like.
- 07
Save per section
Each section has its own Save/Discard bar and saves independently. An unsaved section shows an orange indicator.
Why don’t I see the workspace tab?
It is only visible with the “Manage settings” permission. Ask an Owner or Admin to grant it to you.
What does “billability inherits top-down” mean?
The default is passed down from top to bottom (customer → project → task) and can be overridden at any level and on each individual entry.
